Queen's Jewel marooned in post 17 in French Oaks Alain and Gerard Wertheimer's unbeaten Queen's Jewel (Pivotal) will have to overcome a nightmare post after the hot favorite pulled the outside gate for Sunday's Prix de Diane (Fr-G1) at Chantilly. Once again the draw was conducted live on France's dedicated racing channel Equidia, and last month's record-breaking Prix Saint-Alary (Fr-G1) heroine must buck recent trends to prevail from stall 17 in the €1 million classic. No distaffer has succeeded after exiting a double-digit box number since Latice made light of the 18 hole in 2004. The Aga Khan will be without representation for the second time in three renewals after last month's Prix de Royaumont (Fr-G3) winner Kataniya (Raven's Pass) was confirmed as the only absentee from Thursday's forfeit list of 18. Supplementees Physiocrate (Doctor Dino) and Desiree Clary (Sholokhov), who were first and second in a Chantilly conditions heat last month, fared much better and drew gates 5 and 3 respectively. Prix Caravelle victress Mojo Risin (Lope de Vega), who goes postward along with Queen's Jewel and Physiocrate as the only unbeaten fillies in the line-up, was allocated stall 8. Other notable draws include post 15 for Lady Bamford's Musidora S. (Eng-G3) winner Star of Seville (Duke of Marmalade), who bids to bounce back from a disappointing ninth in the Epsom Oaks (Eng-G1) earlier this month, and post 6 for Wildenstein Stables' Prix Cleopatre (Fr-G3) scorer Little Nightingale (Muhtathir).
