A pair of prospects for Monday's Hopeful S. (G1) at Saratoga readied for the seven-furlong test with works at the Spa on Wednesday.

Impressive debut winner WINE POLICE (Speightstown) breezed four furlongs on the fast Oklahoma training track in :50 2/5, his final major workout in the lead up to Monday's race.

"It was smooth as glass," trainer Steve Asmussen said of the workout. "All systems are go."

The Hopeful will be Wine Police's second start as the chestnut colt drew off to break his maiden by 7 3/4 lengths at Saratoga on July 24.

Kentucky Juvenile S. (G3) second BOYS AT TOSCONOVA (Officer), expected to be favored in the Hopeful, also completed his preparations Wednesday morning, going an easy five furlongs in 1:05 4/5.

"He's all set," trainer Rick Dutrow said of the dark bay colt.

Boys at Tosconova made his racing debut in the Kentucky Juvenile, finishing second by 1 1/2 lengths that day, before returning on July 2 to dominate a maiden field at Belmont by 12 lengths.

Three other juvenile expected for the Hopeful all worked Tuesday at Saratoga.

STAY THIRSTY (Bernardini), a 5 1/2-length winner at the Spa on August 14, went five furlongs in 1:00 4/5, while SETTLE FOR MEDAL (Medallist), a July 31 maiden winner, posted a half-mile in :48 1/5.

Notable debut winner SOVEREIGN DEFAULT (Northern Afleet) sped three furlongs in :36 2/5. The juvenile, who was scratched from the Saratoga Special S. (G2) earlier in the meet, beat Stay Thirsty at Belmont Park on July 15.
