Lord Nelson scratched from Breeders' Cup Sprint, retired

Lord Nelson, the 5-2 second favorite on the morning-line for the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1), has been withdrawn from that Saturday contest after being treated with antibiotics for an infection. He's been retired to Spendthrift Farm near Lexington, Kentucky.

European invader Suedois was also scratched from the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1) due to a stress fracture.

Songbird will attempt to join Personal Ensign and Zenyatta as an undefeated Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) winner on Friday.
