PDF Files Do Not Print Correctly to LaserJet III, 4, or 5 Printers
If our reports are printing incorrectly on one of these printers, try one or more of the following:
- If your printer is either a Laserjet 4 or 5 series, print the file in raster rather that vector mode.
- Choose File...Print.
- Click Setup.
- Select the LaserJet printer, then click Properties(Windows 95) or Options(Windows 3.x).
- Click on Graphics(Windows 95).
- In Windows 95 select Use Raster Graphics; In Windows 3.x, select Raster in the Graphics Options section.
- Click OK
- Set the printer to either download True Type fonts as bitmaps or print True Type fonts as graphics.
- Choose File...Print.
- Click Setup.
- Select the LaserJet printer and then click Properties(Windows 95) or Options(Windows 3.x).
- Click on Fonts(LaserJet III or 4) or the Print Quality(LaserJet 5).
- Select either Download True Type Fonts As Bitmap Soft Fonts or Print True Type Fonts As Graphics, then click OK.
- Change the printer's Dithering setting:
- Choose File...Print.
- Click Setup.
- Select the LaserJet printer and then click Properties(Windows 95) or Options(Windows 3.x).
- Click on Graphics(Windows 95).
- Select either Fine or Coarse from the Dithering options, then click OK.
- If you are printing at high resolution(600 dpi), reduce the print resolution:
- Choose File...Print.
- Click Setup.
- Select the LaserJet printer and then click Properties(Windows 95) or Options(Windows 3.x).
- Click on Graphics(Windows 95).
- Choose a lower resolution from the Resolution pop-up menu.
- Click OK.
- If you have the option to print Postscript, use this mode.
- Download the latest print driver from your printer's manufacturer.
