Michael Kinane will partner Susan
Magnier’s SCORPION (Montjeu [Ire]) in Sunday’s Prix de
l’Arc de Triomphe (Fr-G1) at Longchamp just three days after returning to
the saddle from injury.
Forced onto the sidelines with a
fractured right wrist after a fall at The Curragh last month, Kinane
will be back at Newmarket on Thursday before heading off to Paris
for the ride on the Grand Prix de Paris (Fr-G1) and English St Leger
(Eng-G1) winner.
“The plan is to run Scorpion in the Arc, subject to
everything being OK with him later in the week,” trainer Aidan
O’Brien told Racing
Post. “We’ve been happy with him since his
win in the St Leger and he’s in good form.”
Kinane will have an
action-packed Saturday, as he is booked to ride His Highness the
Aga Khan’s Minstrel S. (Ire-G3) and Desmond S. (Ire-G3) winner CARADAK
(Desert Style) in the Prix de la Foret (Fr-G1), Park Hill S. (Eng-G2)
runner-up KASTORIA (Selkirk) in the Prix de Royallieu (Fr-G2)
and listed Kilternan S. scorer ALAYAN (Sri Pekan) in the
Prix Dollar (Fr-G1).
