Superstar Zenyatta produced her first foal, a bay colt by Bernardini,
Thursday evening at Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Kentucky. Owners Jerry and
Ann Moss were on hand to witness the foaling at approximately 10:10 p.m. (EST).

“My adorable foal weighed in at 130 pounds, has a white star on his
forehead,” said a diary post at Zenyatta.com, “and some white on his feet.

“As Ann commented when she saw him, ‘he has polka dots on his feet, Zennie,
just like YOU.'”

Both mom and foal were reported well by Lane’s End.

“All went very well with the foaling,” the diary read. “I must say…I did it
like a CHAMP!

“My foal is absolutely precious…and I am so pleased to share this entire
experience with all of you…my precious and loving friends.”

Named the 2010 Horse of Year, Zenyatta captured her first 19 career starts,
including the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Classic over males, before suffering her lone
setback in the 2010 Classic, flying late to miss catching Blame by a head at
Churchill Downs. The three-time champion older female was trained by John
Shirreffs.

A 13-time Grade 1 winner, Zenyatta earned $7,304,580 from a 20-19-1-0 mark.
