Race Summary |
---|
MR. SILVER chased the pace, moved to take over racing down the backstretch,
opened a clear lead on the far turn, increased his advantage in midstretch, then
drifted in at the gap inside the sixteenth pole and was fully extended to hold
GIN RUMMY KING safe. The latter, tracked the pace into the stretch and rallied
to prove second best. FULL IN rated off the pace, raced three wide on the far
turn and closed with a mild response to gain the show. MYSTERY PROSPECT failed
to menace. BELLIGERENCE reserved after being bumped hard by ALLSMARTS at the
start, was saving ground when steadied in tight quarters soon after entering the
far turn and never threatened. ALLSMARTS bumped hard with BELLIGERENCE at the
start, raced four wide on the far turn and was not a factor. LISSELAN GARDENS
set the pace along the hedge to midway of the backstretch, then faltered.
