Race Summary

FOLKLORE took the lead soon after the start, alternated for the lead along the backstretch, stalked KNIGHTS TEMPLAR while well off the rail entering the far turn, regained command approaching the quarter pole, extended her margin in upper stretch, maintained a comfortable advantage into deep stretch and held off WILD FIT under steady right hand encouragement. WILD FIT dropped back after breaking outward at the start, raced well back while trailing for five furlongs, launched her bid leaving the far turn, closed the gap midway on the turn, steadied behind SENSATION in traffic at the five-sixteenths pole, swung five wide approaching the quarter pole, took up chase after the winner in upper stretch and finished well in the middle of the track to best the others. ORIGINAL SPIN was bumped a bit at the start, worked her way between horses along the backstretch, raced in traffic briefly nearing the far turn, split horses while gaining midway on the turn, moved into contention while angling four wide at the top of the stretch then lacked a strong closing bid. EX CAELIS in tight at the start, moved up from outside, raced between horses for a half, angled out on the turn, advanced five wide into the stretch, made a run to threaten in upper stretch but couldn't sustain her bid. SENSATION raced between rivals while well back for a half, checked in traffic on the turn, angled wide at the quarter pole and finished evenly. KNIGHTS TEMPLAR rushed up along the rail, took the lead before going a half, showed the way to the turn, yielded to the winner at the five-sixteenths pole and steadily tired thereafter. ADIEU chased the leaders while four wide for five furlongs and gave way abruptly on the turn. ALONG THE SEA bumped at the start, raced up close along the rail for six furlongs and gave way. SHE SAYS IT BEST stumbled at the start then never threatened while five wide throughout. DIAMOND OMI steadied while being bounced around in the early stages and failed to threaten thereafter.
