Race Summary |
---|
INDY WILDCAT pressed the pace from outside, bid for the lead two wide on the
second turn, was all out through the stretch and got the advantage in the waning
yards. WAIT IN LINE moved up between horses, came three wide into the stretch,
rallied the final furlong, his rider lost the whip inside the sixteenth pole but
he steadily closed in and just missed. DISAPPEARING TRICK broke alertly, set the
pace just off the rail, challenged into the second turn, moved ahead again in
the stretch, did not have enough left nearing the wire but was clearly best of
the rest. BELLIGERENCE soon trailed, stayed wide, commenced his bid five wide on
the second turn, gradually closed in through the stretch and lugged in late. OUR
FATHER broke in, bumped PLAGIARIST, was blocked behind the pace early, gained a
clear path three wide near the half mile pole but began to flatten out on the
second turn. MIGHT BE HOOKED a brief factor between rivals, backed up four wide
going to the second turn, angled in some entering the stretch, passed tired ones
going to the final furlong then leveled off. EL SALVADOR was checked in traffic
nearing the first turn, angled inside, saved ground and failed to menace. DOCTOR
DECHERD an early contender toward the outside but gave way four wide on the
second turn. PLAGIARIST bumped at the break, was checked, moved up between
horses into the first turn, checked off heels early in that bend, moved inside,
kept close to the second turn then gave way. BECK AND CALL showed no speed just
off the rail, floated out on the second turn and lacked a stretch response.
