DIRECT CONNECT settled inside, moved up outside on the second turn and four wide into the stretch, gained the lead outside foes, came in onto a rival in midstretch, lost the advantage while being straightened but was coming back at the winner late. CATOUTTATHEBAG stalked inside then a bit off the rail, split horses on the second turn, came three deep into the stretch, steadied slightly at the spill in midstretch and bested the rest. MOONLITE ROMANCE dueled outside a rival then inched away on the backstretch, battled between foes on the second turn, steadied at the spill in midstretch and weakened. TRANQUILO pulled his way along inside then a bit off the rail, came out into the stretch, steadied at the spill and was forced out and lacked a further response. HUGH O'NEILL chased outside a rival, found the inside on the second turn and did not rally. STEPHEN BRUCE pulled his way along inside, came out leaving the second turn and into the stretch, steadied passing the fallen rider and was eased late. AT A BOY RUSS chased three deep then outside, came four wide into the stretch, drifted in while being eased in the lane, was unsaddled a pole from the wire and vanned off. WESTERN SOVEREIGN chased three deep then outside, was between horses into the second turn, angled in leaving that bend, came out in the stretch, took up sharply and swerved out at the spill and was eased thereafter. IRISH BAR, chased three wide on the first turn then outside, bid three deep on the second turn and between foes into the stretch, clipped heels and lost the rider in midstretch. Following a stewards' inquiry, DIRECT CONNECT was disqualified and placed last for interference in midstretch.
