METEOR STORM (GB), always in touch, closed three-wide on the far turn, launched a fast move to take the lead late turn, moved clear, but was no match for the winner in the final furlong. GREY SWALLOW (IRE) raced off the pace, closed between horses on the far turn, launched his bid five-deep at the top of the stretch, bumped with SIMONAS and hung. ELECTROCUTIONIST, well back early, closed six-wide into the stretch, was hit by GREY SWALLOW'S rider's whip in the final furlong and evened out. SIMONAS (IRE), well back early, closed five-wide at the top of the stretch, bumped with GREY SWALLOW then flattened out. YEATS (IRE), off a step slowly, forced the issue, took the lead under furious ride on the turn but yielded to METEOR STORM and tired. JAMBALAYA raced in touch, was hustled three-wide on the turn and flattened out in the stretch. KING'S DRAMA (IRE) took the early lead and moved to the rail, set a pressured pace, dueled on the far turn, yielded midturn and tired. STRUT THE STAGE raced midpack, faded late backstretch and showed no late response. LAST ANSWER stalked the pace, began to give way late backstretch and faded. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN RESULTED IN GREY SWALLOW BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED FOURTH FOR CAUSING INTERFERENCE WHEN GREY SWALLOW'S RIDER HIT ELECTROCUTIONIST WITH HIS WHIP.
