Race Summary |
---|
PURGE was unhurried while outrun early, advanced inside on the turn, split
rivals along the inside approaching the stretch, swung wide for the drive,
reached the front a sixteenth from home and was going away late under vigorous
handling. MASS MEDIA raced close up outside early, rallied three wide on the
turn, responded when roused, earned a short lead passing the eighth pole, had no
answer for the winner's late rush and dug in to hold the place award. GYGISTAR
was outrun early, moved into contention with a five wide run on the turn and
finished gamely on the far outside. SILVER WAGON raced close up outside, raced
four wide on the turn and stayed on well to the finish. VALUE PLUS flashed good
speed from the outside, opened a clear lead leaving the chute, angled over to
the inside, set the pace into the stretch and tired on the rail in the final
furlong. SCRAPPY T raced close up along the inside, chased the pace for three
quarters and had no response when roused. BAILERO (ARG) was hustled along early,
raced inside and had no rally. BADGE OF SILVER chased the pace while between
rivals and tired after the opening three quarters. HOST (CHI) dropped back after
the start, raced along the inside throughout and had no response when roused.
IMPERIALISM dropped back early and was never in contention. STRAIGHT LINE was
hustled along inside, chased the pace on the backstretch and was finished after
the first half mile.
