Race Summary |
---|
STREAM CAT broke slowly and bobbled twice, was bumped by WARRIOR WITHIN, was
taken in hand, saved ground to the stretch, angled out entering the upper
stretch, bumped with GIANT BASIL leaving the three-sixteenths pole when seeking
room, advanced four wide and was under left-handed urging to wear down GO
BETWEEN in the late going. GO BETWEEN followed the pace four wide under light
rating, raced three abreast, took over entering the upper stretch, then couldn't
contain the winner's surge. GAELIC STORM moved to the fore early worked his way
inside through a soft opening quarter, surrendered the advantage to TAHOE
WARRIOR on the first turn, moved outside that one on the backstretch, inched to
the front on the far turn, then weakened when straightened into the lane. GIANT
BASIL swerved out at the start, was steadied sharply between foes and squeezed
back entering the first turn, moved in three wide, angled out entering the
stretch while within easy striking distance, was bumped by the winner leaving
the three-sixteenths pole and lacked a further response. TAHOE WARRIOR, steadied
between horses when rank nearing the first turn, was sent to the fore entering
the backstretch, held on well for six furlongs and tired. WARRIOR WITHIN bobbled
at the break and leaned in bumping the winner, followed the leaders four or five
wide and tired approaching the stretch.
