Race Summary |
---|
BRASS HAT unhurried while wide around the first turn, circled rivals four wide
on the far turn, moved to gain command approaching the eighth pole and drew away
under urging. PIES PROSPECT was caught out wide around the first turn, chased
the pace, moved up to vie for the lead outside MAGNA GRADUATE on the far turn,
edged away from that rival racing into the stretch but was no match for the
winner while continuing on with good courage for the place. ANDROMEDA'S HERO
outrun early, raced four wide on the far turn and passed tired rivals for the
show. MAGNA GRADUATE pressed the pace, moved up gain a slim lead racing down the
backstretch, responded when challenged by PIES PROSPECT, vied with that rival
around the far turn, then tired. WEST VIRGINIA failed to menace. SUAVE showed
speed between horses to midway of the backstretch, then faltered. SEEK GOLD
stumbled at the start, saved ground and was never a factor. SUPER FROLIC rated
off the pace, was through after a half mile. ON THIN ICE showed brief speed off
the rail and faded.
