Race Summary |
---|
PELLEGRINO (BRZ), up close inside early, was never far back and patiently
ridden, eased out four or five wide on the final turn, engaged the leaders
nearing the final furlong, took over a sixteenth out, then proved gamely best
under pressure. GO DEPUTY, unhurried early, edged up between horses on the far
turn, continued between foes four wide into the final furlong and finished with
good courage inside the winner to earn the place. SILVERFOOT, within easy
striking distance while five or six wide from early on, continued in that
position on the course entering the stretch, had aim through the drive but
couldn't get up. DYNANTONIA pressed the pace from early on while in hand three
or four wide, battled on about even terms into the final furlong and weakened
late. WATERSHED EVENT, outrun to the far turn, inched up five wide, continued
between foes four or five wide into the stretch and offered a mild gain.
RAMAZUTTI gained the lead early, raced near the inside under careful handling,
battled forwardly into the final furlong and weakened. DYNALYMPIC, within
striking distance under a rating hold, was steadied after three furlongs when in
tight, continued in contention, edged up nearing the final quarter, moved
between horses into the final furlong and flattened out. DREADNAUGHT failed to
rally in an even effort. ROCHESTER, outrun early, was steadied between horses at
the quarter-mile ground and failed to offer a further account. GUNNING FOR tired
after a mile. WESTMORELAND ROAD, forwardly placed inside early, eased out five
wide, was steadied between foes a quarter-mile out and dropped back.
