GOLD AND ROSES was taken in hand after an alert break, raced just to the outside of the winner on the backstretch, advanced three wide on the second turn, rallied to the front at the eighth pole, came in a bit in deep stretch and dug in gamely but could not handle the winner late. WIN WITH BECK raced in hand along the inside early, put in a run on the rail on the second turn, reached even terms for the lead in upper stretch and tired leaving the eighth pole.
