Race Summary |
---|
ELUSIVE JAZZ drifted out at the start putting LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD in tight
quarters, was never far back and five wide during the opening quarter, edged in
slightly on the turn, reached the front when straightened for the drive, bumped
with PREMIUM SALTINE for a stride when leaning in, then was kept to his task to
expand the advantage. WILD TALE, outsprinted for a half and three or four wide,
came out six wide for the stretch run and was second best. PREMIUM SALTINE,
forwardly placed from the outset and five or six wide during the early stages,
inched to challenge leaving the turn, gained even terms for the lead, was bumped
for a stride at the three-sixteenths pole by the winner from the outside, then
weakened. LEVEL PLAYINGFIELD, sluggish to begin and pinched back in tight
quarters, was outrun to the stretch, then offered a mild gain while six or seven
wide. FIFTEEN ROUNDS, within easy striking distance while in behind the leaders
near the inside, made a bold run from the rail entering the stretch but
flattened out the last eighth. KORBYN GOLD attended the pace while between
rivals four or five wide and tired nearing the stretch. BWANA CHARLIE failed to
threaten. DANIELTOWN unseated the rider in the gate prior to the start. During
the running, DANIELTOWN went up to gain the lead four wide, managed a slight
edge to the final quarter and tired.
