RED BIRD'S MEISTER dueled for the lead from the inside, was in a long drive and
gamely dug in to prevail in the final stride. SMILE AWAY dueled for the lead
from the outside, was in a long all out drive and gamely just missed in a great
effort. CHARMING SOCIALITE saved ground on the turn then rallied on the inside
in the stretch but was no threat to the top two. HERVE raced two wide on the
turn, made a bid in upper stretch but faltered. MR. QUESTION on the inside going
into the turn and dropped back then failed to menace. WON C C raced four wide on
the turn made a mild rally and was no threat in the stretch. LEO'S LAST HURRAHY
raced five wide on the turn and was no factor. CZECH MATE fanned out six wide in
upper stretch and broke down suddenly, was pulled up by his rider and vanned
off.
