Conditions: 1 1/16M Dirt. Star of Texas S.. FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS AND UPWARD, ACCREDITED TEXAS BREDS. By free subscription. $500 to pass the entry box. $500 additional to start with $100,000 Guaranteed. The $100,000 Guaranteed to be divided; $60,000 to the winner, $20,000 to second, $11,000 to third, $6,000 to fourth and $3,000 to fifth. Weights: Three-year-olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 123 lbs. Non-winners of a Sweepstakes at a mile or over since July 19, 2005 allowed 3 lbs. Two races at a mile or over since September 19, 2005, 5 lbs. (Maiden, Claiming and Starter races not considered in estimating allowances.) Starters to be named through the entry box by the usual time of closing. This race will be limited to twelve (12) starters with preference to horses with highest career earnings at time of entry. Race Summary |
---|
DIXIE MEISTER stalked the pace while racing two wide, rallied three wide on the
far turn then was in a strong drive and drew off in late stretch. AGRIVATING
GENERAL stalked the pace while inside on the backstretch then rallied two wide
on the far turn to ranged up for the lead, put a head in front at the top of the
stretch then failed to sustain that bid in deep stretch. DREAMSANDVISIONS was
allowed to settled then started a rally on the far turn while two wide then
swung out four wide for the stretch drive, was gaining ground in late stretch
but was too late. RECORD ASSEMBLY broke sharply and angled over to the rail to
set the early pace, dueled for the lead from the inside then was in a long drive
and weakened in the stretch. CROOK'S LAD raced four wide on the far turn and
failed to menace. MISWAKI MAC was allowed to settle then rallied four wide on
the far turn making a bid then flattened out in the stretch. SUPER ITRON was on
the inside on the turns and was no threat. TIKI ISLAND was unhurried early and
was no factor. FLY SLAMA JAMA dueled for the early lead while two wide, was used
up and stopped suddenly on the far turn while being eased in late stretch.
