The latter, unhurried early, swung out for the stretch run, rallied to reach EYES ON EDDY in deep stretch but couldn't get to that rival while clearly second best. MARCHONIN stalked the pace, slipped through along the rail to gain a brief lead on the far turn, then tired. COTOPAXI chased the pace three wide, made a run to reach even terms for command on the far turn, then faltered. ELLE RUNAWAY set the pace off the rail to midway of the far turn, then faded.
