Laviolette notches 1,500th career winner Jockey Shane Laviolette notched his 1,500th career victory aboard Stormy o' Bryan (Category Five) in Thursday's 4TH race at Arlington Park. The 32-year-old New Orleans native has been a regular on the Chicago racing scene since the mid-1990s after spending the early part of his riding career in Louisiana. "It took a long time, but you have to keep plugging at it," Laviolette said. "My meet has been a little slow, but you can't give up. I have to thank (trainer) Tommy Tomillo. He brought me to Chicago and has put me on a lot of winners."
