Turbulent Descent will seek to keep her record perfect in the Starlet

An easy winner in her first two career starts, TURBULENT DESCENT (Congrats)
will be the one to beat when she lines up against seven rivals in Saturday's
$300,000
Hollywood Starlet (G1). The 1 1/16-mile test marks the two-turn debut for
the Mike Puype-trained filly, who toyed with maiden special weight rivals before
winning the November 21 Moccasin S. under a hand ride. The Florida-bred was
heavily favored in both outings, and she'll retain the services of David Flores
for this one.
Darley Debutante (G1) winner TELL A KELLY (Tapit) will look to rebound from a
disappointing seventh as the 9-2 fourth choice in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile
Fillies (G1). Trained by John Sadler, who is also responsible for Moccasin
runner-up ZAZU (Tapit), the chestnut lass finished a close second in the
Oak Leaf S. (G1) two starts back over the Cushion Track and drilled a six-furlong
bullet work in 1:12 4/5 last Friday in preparation. Tell a Kelly will pick up a
new pilot in Joel Rosario.
Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert will send out MAY DAY ROSE (Rockport
Harbor), who exits a sharp 4 1/4-length score in the November 7 Sharp Cat S. and
is one of two members of the field with a win at the distance. The speedy bay
drilled a six-furlong bullet work in 1:11 4/5 on Sunday, and Rafael Bejarano
will take over the reins on the front runner. BIG TIZ (Tiznow) broke her maiden
at the Starlet distance two back and finished third as the favorite in the Sharp
Cat. The Mark Glatt trainee will attempt to improve upon that experience under
new rider Patrick Valenzuela.

The well-traveled NINA FEVER (Borrego), a head second in the Glorious Song S.
at Woodbine most recently, will make her Southern California debut for Wesley
Ward. TRUE WAY OF GRACE (Yes It's True), who closed late for runner-up honors in
the Sharp Cat, and LUNA GRANDE (Mass Media), who invades off a dominant
allowance win at Calder, round out the field.
