James E Hamon  KY | 2000 Brisnet.com Challenge Winner |
Occupation:
| Engineer Civil/Environmental |
Other Accomplishments: | 2000 was a good year for me with contests. I won $62,500 in the Spring $250,000 Ladbroke Classic by finishing first overall in ROI and fourth in money won for the six week contest. Then I won the Fall Brisnet Handicapping Contest for $10,000 and an entry in the NTRA Handicapping Contest.
I hit a dollar tri at Ellis Park in the mid eighties for $5,500.
The Friday before the NTRA contest I hit a dollar super at the FG for $10,210 on a twelve dollar bet. |
Started Playing:
| Actually started handicapping in the spring of 1981 but I started betting in 1978 |
Handicapping Mentor(s):
| William Scott's approach to ability shown by a horse is pretty strong and after years of using it I have modified it somewhat to suit myself. It's probably a tradeoff on winners with Scott's suggested approach but there is more to it than the horse's proven ability. |
Handicapping Style:
