Other Accomplishments: | 1) Won a trip to my home town of Las Vegas for the NTRA Handicapping Championship last Nov'02 with a 2nd place finish at the Surfside Race Place in Del Mar, CA. 2) In addition to qualifying for the 'big one', I was fortunate to win ten (10) contests during 2002 at many of the racebooks throughout Las Vegas. The ten wins came from first place finishes at Arizona Charlies, Sunset Station and The Excalibur casinos.....let alone the 2nd to 5th place finishes which paid from $50 to $400. The Winners share from the ten contests ranged from $1,100 to $2,500.

Started Playing:
| Started wagering when a college student way back when in Boston in the '60s, but seriously took up handicapping when I moved to Las Vegas 7 years ago, with so many handicapping contests to pick from each week out at the many racebooks in town. |
Handicapping Mentor(s):
| The person who really 'taught' me the fine nuances of handicapping was the late Marty Dermer who passed away this year at a young age. He was recognized through the country as a 'premier' handicapper. He and I used to sit alone at Bally's or Paris' racebook when he came into Las Vegas. He showed me techniques and nuances I would never have thought about had I not ever met him.....he will be missed |
Handicapping Style:
| I primarily look for 'Angles'.....I look at dirt to turf trainer percentages, track bias, hot jockeys, poor trainers, route to sprint, etc. plus some of my own techniques which have proven correct. |
