WIZARD'S PICK OF THE DAY SCORES BIG ON BREEDERS' CUP DAY!!!
Wizard nails his Pick of the Day selection on Saturday and crushes the race with $486 Trifecta wagering strategy ($2 payoff)!
Pace Scenario:
Indian Blessing will be forwardly placed from the start and take command through moderate early fractions. From that point she should prove tough to run down.
Pick of the Day:
# 4 INDIAN BLESSING Every so often, a 2-year-old filly comes along who you say to yourself, "This one is special." Of course many times it doesn’t pan out this way, but in Indian Blessing’s case, I think I might be right. She has been nothing short of spectacular in both of her starts. Trainer Bob Baffert sent his better 2-year-olds to Saratoga to make their debut, rather than run at Del Mar. His decision proved correct, as several broke their maidens at first-asking in "eye opening" fashion. Indian Blessing was the most impressive winner of the bunch. In her debut, she broke slow from a tough inside post, but quickly surged to the lead. Indian Blessing was pressured until spurting clear at the top of the stretch, increasing her margin with every stride without being asked. Indian Blessing ran 1/5th off the track record track while setting a very fast pace. Her next start was the Grade 1 Frizette at Belmont Park. Indian Blessing would be asked to stretch out from 5 1/2 furlongs to a one-turn mile and step up from a MSW contest into a prestigious stakes event. These factors proved not to be an obstacle as she merely "toyed" with 8 other rivals. Even though her final time was not particularly fast, that was a result of a torrid pace that Indian Blessing stalked then took command with ease on the far turn. She showed the ability to rate, which was just another feather in her cap for the future. In the Juvenile Fillies, she will go 2 turns for the 1st time. This can only help her because Indian Blessing will not have to run as hard early. A one-turn mile at Belmont is a lot harder to negotiate than 1 1/16 miles at Monmouth Park. When the field hits the far turn, I expect her to be on the lead and subsequently win comfortably. Indian Blessing worked 5 furlongs on Oct. 21 at Belmont. That work was as good as you will ever see for a developing 2-year-old.
Wagering Strategy:
Play # 4 INDIAN BLESSING to Win. Trifecta 4 with 2, 8, 10, 12 with All ($44 based on $1 bet).

Spotlight Selections Knock it Out of the Park!
Reigning Handicapper of the Year Stanley Bavlish and former champions Judy Wagner, Ron Rippey, Herman Miller, Steve Wolfson and Steve Walker proved again why they are the shrewdest horseplayers in the game. The talented sextet tabbed the winner correctly on top an aggregate of 15 times with their Breeders’ Cup selections. That’s not including Spotlight’s five winners on top found in the consensus picks. Pick-3 players were rewarded with rolling Pick-3s in races 4-6 ($168.60) and 5-7 ($203.90) if they played the consensus top pick in those races with a $1 ticket each!
Leading the charge was Herman Miller. The 2002 champ had four winners on top, including his best play of the day Lahudood ($25.40) in the Filly & Mare Turf. Not to be showed up, 2001 Handicapper of the Year Judy Wagner hit three of the last five races on top. In the Sprint Wagner hit the Midnight Lute/Idiot Proof exacta cold for $49.80. Plus, if you boxed her selections in the Dirt Mile it would have returned a $496.60 superfecta and/or a $107.70 trifecta.
The reigning champ, Stanley Bavlish, nailed the exacta cold in the Juvenile for $25.20. Using his top four picks in a trifecta box for the Distaff would have netted you $534.70. Steve Walker’s in-depth analysis harvested a trifecta and exacta in the Juvenile Filly, an exacta in the Juvenile, and a $376.90 trifecta in the always difficult Mile.

Sprint FIT 'N READY - Midnight Lute ($7.00)
"Midnight Lute put in an unbelievable 5/8 mile as he towed the rider down the backside. Then he eyed another worker and swept by him with absolute ease through the lane to conclude his drill in an unbelievable :56.3 while coming that final 1/8 in 11.3 and galloping out 6f in 1:09.2. This was an excellent, excellent move and a full second faster than what they gave him, as he appears set for his best effort in the BC Sprint." |
SA 10/27 | Grade A | Official Workout Time of :57.3 |
