"The main use that I had [from the Ultimate PP's with Summary] was the track bias and post position bias info. That was very valuable to me. In fact, that was the basis of a lot of my picks. I tried to pick horses that were going to be compatible with the bias of a track, not only recently but over the course of the meet."

For the 2nd time this year the WIZARD has nailed a blockbuster payoff with one of his Crystal Ball BEST BETS found on his daily sheets. Earlier this summer he nailed a $100 winner at Arlington. Now he has done it again with a $96 winner at Calder on Saturday, Dec. 13. Here is the excerpt from the Simulcast Best Bets report:
"SOVEREIGN HONOR (Race Six) 2 yo colt may offer some value here and can expect a much improved performance today. Trainer Jose Pinchin will stretch this Double Honor colt out two turns while moving him to the grass. Both of these changes are high percentage moves for this barn, and colt is equally well bred to handle both the distance and new surface. Cruz is a plus."
As if this top winner weren't enough, the Wizard gave out the $4,948.80 Superfecta with his second, third and fourth selections underneath! And even if you didn't play the Super, the $344 Exacta and $1,272 Trifecta were easily attainable.
What a year for the Wizard. Here are his main highlights in 2003:
Jan. 26, Santa Anita: Swept the card with EIGHT TOP Winners (3 of which were double digit payoffs)!
Feb. 19, Gulfstream Park: $33.80 Pick of the Day winner (along with $687 Trifecta)
June 12, Arlington Park: $101.40 Best Bet winner (along with $1,040 Trifecta)
Dec. 13, Calder: $96.80 Best Bet winner (along with $4,948.80 Superfecta)
There's a good reason the Wizard has such a loyal following. The next time you head to the track, put the Wizard to work for you. Find his reports every racing day under "Selections, Programs, PPs" on the Brisnet.com website.

STABLE ALERT is one of the most powerful handicapping tools that the horseplayer can put to their advantage. Simply enter your horses to watch in your Stable Alert account and you will be notified by email up to 3 days out if that horse(s) is entered to run anywhere in the country. Don't miss a runner in 2004! Start putting Stable Alert to work for you this coming year.
Q. How can STABLE ALERT aid my handicapping?
By allowing you to easily track horses to watch, you'll never miss the next time a horse is entered. Maybe you saw a horse have a bad trip and finish better than it looks. Simply enter his name into your Stable Alert account along with any pertinent notes regarding this runner. We will notify you by email the next time this horse is entered to run. It's that simple. You'll be amazed what this can do for your bottom line.
Q. What does STABLE ALERT cost?
Tracking the entries and results of trainers or horses is absolutely free. The Carryover Watch for exotics is also free. Watching for the progeny of any stallion is $.35 for each day the sire is in your Stable Alert account. The cost for a dam is only $.10 each day.
Q. How do I get started?
Simply click on the STABLE ALERT link at the top right of the Brisnet.com homepage. From there follow the easy-to-use steps for creating your own stable of horses, trainers and more.
Q. What about the STABLE TODAY feature?
Stable Today is a clickable link from the Stable Alert page (www.brisnet.com/stablealert). This unique feature allows you to easily create a custom Past Performances report for the horses in your stable that are entered on a given day. For example, let's say on Wednesday, Jan. 14 that you have four horses from your stable entered to run. With just a few clicks on the Stable Today page, you can easily create PPs for just those four races. This feature is powered by Brisnet.com's Custom Card tool, and regular PP charges apply.

By Tony Kelzenberg
In stock market analysis, there is an emphasis on finding companies with good 'fundamentals:' good products and services, reliable earnings, and good management. Is it possible to use a similar comprehensive approach to find winning racehorses? In today's article, I will make the case that Brisnet.com Ultimate PPs can be used to find winning racehorses that pay more than fair prices at a high win percentage.
The Overall Concept
We will look for horses that have competitive speed figures, tactical speed (top half of field or better, usually 'E' or E/P horses), coming from solid connections (trainer and jockey) with ideally a 25% win percentage both over the track and at today's distance. Any horse that qualifies on most of these criteria can be backed if the value is high, which we will define as win odds of over 5/1.
Wed. Dec. 3 (2003) - Example 1 - the Lightly-raced Maiden
Aqueduct Race 3: #6 Judy Soda was second off the layoff today, about to make her 4th start. She flashed a little speed 4 wide in a New York Bred MSW effort on Nov. 15th going one mile. Today she is going two turns, 8.5 furlongs on the inner dirt. Judy Soda's trainer is 3 for 15 (20%) in 2nd route races. Judy's Soda is also 1st lasix today and 11 to 1 odds. Odds on favorite Open Flirt has never gone a route distance or raced on the inner dirt. Judy's Soda got the job done, paying $24.20.
Thurs. Dec. 4 - Example 2 - the State Bred Claimer
Fair Grounds Race 1: #4 Pikeville was terrible in his last race, beaten by 20 lengths. But that was against open company, $7,500 claimers. Today he looked like the controlling speed going against $5,000 La-bred claimers. 3 for 13 at the distance, and with a trainer who tends to get longer priced claimers home (3 for 15, with a 214% flat bet profit), Pikeville was a logical play. Odds on favorite Right on the Mark lacked speed and had not raced in 8 months. Pikeville pressed the early lead, then drew off to win by open lengths and paid $13.40.
Thurs. Dec. 4 - Example 3 - the Lightly-raced NW2L horse
Fair Grounds Race 4: #7 Shakethemhatersoff was first in Prime Power and had one good win in 3 'fast dirt' starts. Trainer Denise Schmidt already had a win at the meet and was a very respectable 18% wins overall in 2003. The main issue was would the horse show up today? At 9/2 the odds were worth the risk, with the #7 paying $11.60 to win.
Saturday. Dec. 5 - Example 4 - the Unraced Maiden
Calder Race 3: #4 Royal Sensation was unraced, making a debut in a two year old $32,000 maiden claimer. Trainer Michael McDonald is a very respectable 15% with 1st time starters, and also in 'Debut Maiden Claimers.' Top journeyman Gary Boulanger was up (17% for the meet), and the horse's sire was Eltish, who is 20% debut winners. Throw in two sharp recent breezes, and all the indications were there for a solid effort. At 9/1 odds, Royal Sensation didn't disappoint, showing speed from the outset and outfinishing 9/5 favorite Getaway Man, paying $21.60 to win and keying a $74 exacta.
To summarize, I recommend playing horses that are lightly raced, or have a solid record at today's track and distance. Use the trainer stats featured in the Ultimate PPs to uncover value, especially on unraced maidens, while focusing on trainers that have a high winning percentage and/or a flat bet profit.
