Once
again Brisnet.com has taken past performances to the
next level with the addition of detailed favorite
success rate information in the Ultimate PPs. The
new enhancement includes the win percentage,
in-the-money percentage and $2 ROI of favorites for
the race type classification, as well as the average
field size and median $2 win payoff.
To
help you determine what kind of prices typically
come in for this type of race, BRIS also provides
stats on the percentage of winners under 5-1,
between 5.1-1 and 9.9-1, and 10-1 or greater.
The
data goes back three years and is optimized to find
the largest sample size for the race classification
in question.
In
the first example at Hollywood Park, one can see
that the public choice has fared extremely well in
maiden special weight events at six furlongs,
winning 50% of the races (actually producing a flat
bet profit) and in the money 90% of the time. Only
one winner from 20 races, 5%, has paid greater than
10-1 odds. In other words, this is typically a very formful type of race and not one where you should be
focusing on long shots.
The
Philadelphia Park (race 7) example is very similar,
with favorites winning at a high rate and again
producing a flat bet profit. Only 4% of the races at
this level have been won by long shots with 83% of
the winners paying under 5-1 odds. Again, this has
proven to be a formful level.
The
second Philadelphia Park example (race 4) displays a
contrasting situation. Here only 16% of the $7,500
claimers are being won by the public choice with
just 58% of all winners paying under 5-1. This is
the type of race where uncovering mid-price runners
and longshots can prove to be a very profitable
situation.

NEW
TRACK DIAGRAMS
Brisnet.com has also added the track diagrams for
each race in all PDF Past Performances.* Now you can
easily see the start and finish of a race, helping
you determine which horses may be helped or burdened
by their post position draw. This is especially
useful in simulcast races where one may be
unfamiliar with the configuration of the track.

Based on valuable feedback from our veteran
tournament players, Brisnet.com has taken the online
contest format to a new, improved level. A new
series of 7 free contests begins July 23, and the
online format is better than ever.
If
you're familiar with poker, the Satellite format
will be even easier to understand. However, we've
added a new wrinkle whereby the winner of each
Satellite automatically qualifies for Vegas. The
next 50 players in the standings (2nd place through
51st position) qualify for the Brisnet.com Finals on
Saturday, December 17. On that date only 350 members
(the 50 finalists from each of the seven events)
will compete for no less than seven berths in the
$1,000,000 World Series in January! Seven qualifying
spots in Las Vegas will be up for grabs...only at Brisnet.com!
From
the seven one-day contests and the December Finals,
racing's #1 website will be sending a total of 14
members to the incredible $1,000,000 Horseplayer
World Series at Coast Casinos in Las Vegas. No other
site, outside of Coast Casinos, is giving away this
many qualifying spots in Vegas!
The
first contest begins Saturday, July 23. There will
be 8 mandatory races in each single day event.
Winning is based on a hypothetical $2 win/place
wager on each selection with caps of 25-1 (Win) and
12-1 (Place) respectively.

The
7th annual $30,000 Brisnet.com Online Handicapping
Challenge is now in the books! The FREE online
contest was divided into three separate events this
year over the weekends of April 9th, 16th, & 23rd.
Please join us in congratulating the three man team
of Tim Catlett, Leo Haukkala and Mike Rogers that
will be competing in the DRF/NTRA National
Handicapping Championship next January in Las Vegas.
The three grand prize winners earned free trips to
the big tournament and $2,500 cash.
In
week one, Tim Catlett, a building systems operator
from Hedgesville, WV nailed 5 winners and earned an
ROI of $173.10 to claim the first coveted trip to
Las Vegas. A Brisnet member since 2002, Catlett
primarily downloads Ultimate PPs w/comments and had

Another outstanding performance came in the week-two
contest when Leo Haukkala, of Port Hadlock, WA came

Congratulations to Elizabeth Brown, the Grand
Prize Winner of the
Brisnet.com Race of the Day Handicapping Contest!
Brown won an all expense paid trip for two to the
131st running of the Kentucky Derby.

can't imagine how surprised and excited I was to
find out that I'd won the trip to the Derby! Just
playing the Race of the Day Handicapping Contest was
a fun experience," explained Brown. "It familiarized
me with the races and horses, and I got to pat
myself on the back when I made the right picks.
