In the Beginning

When Phillips Racing News awarded ALL-Ways a 9 rating and called ALL-Ways "absolutely the best free handicapping tool on the market", here is what they saw:

  • 71 comprehensive handicapping factors (now 87) covering each horses suitability to the distance and surface, current form, class level and ability to handle the probable pace and speed demands of the race;
  • Handicapping factors that were not in the hands of the general public;
  • The work of experts in the industry incorporated, for the first time, all in one place such as the work of Tom Brohamer based on the Sartin Methodology, William Scott, Tom Hambleton and William Quirin;
  • Software that automatically adjusted its handicapping for each race to be both race-type and race-track specific, even taking into account the prevailing track bias;
  • Software that let users design their own handicapping profiles so they could, if they so wished, take some control over the software and not just use it as a "black box".

    The initial release of ALL-Ways was filled with innovations. And, major upgrades have been introduced just about every year since with innovation after innovation after innovation.

    Race Pace Shapes and Custom Card

    ALL-Ways introduced the concept of Race Pace Shapes to the industry (see ALL-Ways Newsletter #3 on Brisnet.com). This now widely acclaimed method of automatically assessing the pace dynamics within a race has proven to be one of the most powerful, yet easy-to-use handicapping concepts ever introduced. Then there is the very special ALL-Ways version of BRIS Custom Card. This feature lets you build your own personal race card made up of just the races you like to play at just the tracks you like to play. And, thanks to ALL-Ways Race Pace Shapes, you can even specify how much pace pressure you want in the races such as races with lone front runners and/or races with a lot of early pace pressure that may set up for high priced closers. This is ideal for on-line/account wagering.

    Handicapping and Structuring Exotic Wagers

    ALL-Ways uses an advanced computer handicapping approach that not only finds the most likely win horses, but the most likely place and show horses as well. Other innovations in this area include:

  • A feature that lets ALL-Ways users create custom handicapping profiles that look specifically for long shots;
  • A feature that handicaps first time starters in an odds-line that is integrated with the other horses;
  • The Dangerous Non-Contender feature that looks at all apparent non-contenders to see if one may "wake up" today and score at a big price;
  • The powerful Key-Horse Candidate feature that finds good Key-Horses for holding down the cost of your Exotic Wagers;
  • A feature that identifies the Best Early and Best Late running horses. All these innovations give ALL-Ways an unprecedented capability to help you handicap for and structure your Exotic wagers.

    Unleashing the Power of the ALL-Ways Databases

    ALL-Ways automatically builds a database of races and results. You can tap into the power of this database in the ALL-Ways Analysis Module:

  • The Impact Value Analysis shows the handicapping power and profitability of all 87 key handicapping factors for each kind of race run at the track; ? The Gap Analysis shows you how well horses perform based on the size of their advantage ("Gap") for each handicapping factor;
  • The Profile Analysis shows you the handicapping and wagering effectiveness of each handicapping profile;
  • The Track Payoff Analysis shows the average win, Exacta and Trifecta payoffs for every kind of race run at the track;
  • The "What if?" Wagering Analysis shows how well you would have done betting at different minimum odds, at different percentage overlays and using two-horse win wagering.

    Now, here is the Breeders' Cup plan.

    One way to take advantage of your free ALL-Ways data files is to get a head start on the 2004 Breeders' Cup which will be run on October 30th at Lone Star Park in Texas. You can build an ALL-Ways Race Database for Lone Star with approximately 250 races, absolutely free! Just download your 5 free new ALL-Ways regular data files and your 20 free ALL-Ways archived data files and XRD results files from the BRIS Archive File Server in June. The current meet now underway at Lone Star runs through July 11th. By the way, Lone Star is noted for its large fields and nice payoffs. And remember, ALL-Ways data files can also be used to print the BRIS Ultimate PPs With Comments at no additional cost! (Using the FREE BRIS Custom PP Generator)

    Download and Install ALL-Ways Handicapping Software today!

  • *20 Free Archive files and the corresponding XRD archive result files are available only from the Brisnet.com Archive service located at Brisnet.com/archive.

    Nobody Beats the Wizard

    People often wonder what differentiates the Wizard from other noted handicappers. Well, it's wagering strategy. This was illustrated best when the Wizard turned a 3-5 shot into a 5-2 winner in the Preakness. By following his trifecta strategies, which contained six different trifecta partwheels, Wizard followers nailed the Preakness trifecta five times! A $127 outlay returned $443.00. Not bad for a $10 sheet.

    What separates you from hitting the trifecta, and possibly the superfecta, in the Belmont? The Wizard's detailed Belmont Stakes analysis & exotic wagering strategies available Thursday, June 3.

    For only $6 get the Wizard's Pick of the Day from Belmont Park or choose his full-card coverage of the entire Belmont card. This is the Wizard's home track and nobody covers this meet more closely than this professional handicapper. Both products available by Friday, June 4.

    Fax Service

    Are you going to be part of the record crowd at Belmont Park? If so, BRIS is just a phone call away. Anytime you are away from your computer, BRIS can still accommodate your handicapping needs. Call 1-800-354-9206 for our fax or overnight mail service.

    Colwell Claims Challenge Crown

    Oklahoma resident Pete Colwell claimed the $25,000 Brisnet.com Online Handicapping Challenge contested May 23 and 24, 2004. The winner strung together back to back days of exceptional handicapping to win the grand prize of $5,000 and a trip to Las Vegas for the National Handicapping Championship. In thirteenth place after day one, Colwell surged to victory on the final day to claim the grand prize.

    Describing his handicapping Colwell had this to say, "Like many handicappers I first narrow the field down to four or five contenders. From there I look at the Track Bias Summary in the Ultimate PPs and I use the BRIS Pace and Speed figures to arrive at my selection."

    Colwell held off a furious rally from second place finisher Jeffrey Blaylock. Well off the leader board on day one, Blaylock posted the second best R.O.I. on the final day of the tournament. The amazing turn around was good for $2,000 and a qualifying berth in the National Handicapping Championship. The long-time member is a devout Condensed Past Performance user.

    Completing the Brisnet.com team heading to Las Vegas is Florence Rotman. The experienced tournament player is also an accomplished bridge player. A multiple national bridge champion, Rotman's success in high profile tournaments will be a valuable addition to the Brisnet.com team. Rotman's third place finish earned her a check for $1,000 and the final spot on the Brisnet.com team.

    "I have tried everything," stated Rotman. "I've read all the handicapping books and checked out every handicapping theory. When I handicap I focus on the pace and then factor in success at the track and the distance. The pace numbers in Premium Plus PPs help me visualize how the race will set up."

    Asked about how her success in national bridge tournaments has helped her handicapping Rotman replied, "Concentration. A house could burn down next to me and I wouldn't know it."

    Overall eighth place finisher Louis Alessi failed to make the Brisnet.com team but claimed the day two prize for high R.O.I. On day two Alessi managed to turn his $40 bankroll into $115.40. "The Scratch Sheet helps me uncover longshots the public doesn't see. It was the key to my winning on Sunday (for High R.O.I)", explained Alessi. The feat was good for $2,500. Way to go!

    Congratulations again to all the winners and thanks to everyone who participated in the Challenge. Your participation has helped make the 6th annual Brisnet.com Online Handicapping Challenge the best on the internet.
