Top Ten Reasons to Use MultiCAPSThere are many reasons to use MultiCAPS and here are the top 10. 10. Get 5 free downloads from BRIS. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. 9. The program is flexible. You have control over the manner in which the program makes its selections. You can spend hours analyzing different factors if you choose. 8. The program is easy to use. You do not have to study for hours or toil over a complicated set of instructions or manipulate the program in any way to get its default selections. 7. MultiCAPS is quick. You can download the program, import the file, and handicap the card in as little as 1/2 an hour. 6. With MultiCAPS, you can "have it your way." Other programs tend to force the user to handicap the way programmer handicaps. MultiCAPS has a screen for just about every handicapping style, whether it is Class, Pace, Energy, Speed, Early Speed, Late Speed or just about anything else you can think of. 5. You can use the MultiCAPS data file in conjunction with the BRIS PP Generator software to create Premium Past Performances - with Class Ratings, Race Ratings and the Prime Power Ratings. 4. MultiCAPS software is FREE! As with all BRIS handicapping software there is no cost for the software. You can download it, try the sample file, and this month you may try 5 additional current race files with no out-of-pocket cost. 3. With MultiCAPS you do not have to guess on how well the program or your settings are doing. With the powerful Models function you can quickly see how your modifications will affect the bottom-line. The Models function allows you to track ROI and Win % for the various factors such as Class, Speed, 1st Call, 2nd Call, and Race Rating, to name a few. 2. You don't have to mortgage the house to use MultiCAPS. The regular cost is \$5 per race card or \$2 for Silver Club members. 1. The number 1 reason to use MultiCAPS is that you will spend less time handicapping and spend more time at the mutual clerk's window collecting proceeds from your winning tote tickets.

Getting Started with MultiCAPSOur feature program this month is MultiCAPS. Below is an abbreviated set of instructions to get you going in mere minutes. Follow the instructions below to download, install the program and begin handicapping. Go to the BRIS homepage at www.brisnet.com and click the icon titled "FREE Handicapping Software". Click the MultiCAPS button and on the next page click the link for the MultiCAPS installation file. Save the file to your hard disk and when the download is complete exit the internet and any other application that may be running. Locate the MultiCAPS installation file (mc32v428.exe for Win95/98 or mc16v428.exe for Win3.1) that you downloaded and double-click to install. Once installed MultiCAPS places an icon on the Win 95/98 desktop as well as a link through the PROGRAMS menu at your START button. Start the program by clicking the MultiCAPS icon. MultiCAPS is a DOS-based program (a Windows version is in the works) so after clicking on the icon to start the program your mouse will NOT execute any of the program menus or options. You must use the keyboard and/or the arrow keys to navigate through the menu structure. Use the arrow keys to highlight the IMPORT option and hit the ENTER key. From the drop-down menu, highlight the 1st option and hit the ENTER key. On the right side of the screen you will see the sample card highlighted. Hit the ENTER key and the program will begin importing the data file. Once the importing process is complete you are ready to view the race card and see the MultiCAPS picks. Highlight the VIEW menu (using the arrow keys) and hit ENTER. On the right side of the screen you may choose any of the races on the card to begin viewing. After highlighting the race desired, hit the ENTER key to view that race. One of the columns you will see is captioned MCL. This represents the MultiCAPS Odds Line. The horse with the lowest odds is the one that MultiCAPS is picking to win the race. To go to the next race hit the "N" key on your keyboard. It is as simple as that! However, you can literally spend hours perusing the various screens of information analyzing and evaluating each horse on the card. It is up to you. MultiCAPS can be used as a "black-box" or as tool to compliment your normal handicapping methodology. MultiCAPS is a multi-faceted program that is very sophisticated and allows the user maximum control. The MultiCAPS handicapper has the power to emphasize certain factors over others and choose how the program makes its selections. Download and read the users manual to learn more about the program and how you can take control.

Don't Avoid 2yo Races ... CRUSH 'EM!"This message of praise has been long overdue on my part. I think all of your products and services are great, but this year for the first time I bought the Maiden Stats book. I was always hesistant to try it in the past, mainly because of the \$100 price tag, but I find the information edge it gives me is well worth the cover price. I have gone from a handicapper who dreaded races full of first-time starters to one who actively seeks them out." F. Roush, Florida With statistics on 33,304 two-year-olds of 1999, MAIDEN STATS is the ultimate guide for analyzing runners' pedigrees, which lead to BLOCKBUSTER PRICES. Everything one needs to know about a horse's breeding is in this jam-packed guide, including the dosage index, sales history, top sibling information, and sire and dam statistics. If there is mud, turf or distance capability on either side of the family, MAIDEN STATS 1999 will tell you. You also will know right away if a debut runner is bred to win first time out. MAIDEN STATS goes beyond just two-year-old maiden events. If a runner attempts a route for the first time, the stats are there. If a runner attempts the grass, the reader will know if the horse is bred to love it. This year's book is useful for as many years as there are horses (in the book) who attempt new circumstances, i.e. first time turf. MAIDEN STATS is a true bargain at only \$99.95 plus \$6.00 shipping and handling (Kentucky residents add 6 percent sales tax). "Handicappers with a copy ... will have a serious information edge." That's what Dave Litfin of the Daily Racing Form had to say about this popular product. Order today by calling BRIS at 1-800-354-9206 ext. 254, or if you prefer, you can order through the online bookstore at www.brisnet.com.

MultiCAPS Testimonial"Thanks to the MultiCAPS program, I won \$12,680 in the Pick 6 on Kentucky Oaks day (April 30th, 1999). I was not even planning on wagering that day because I was going to save my money for Kentucky Derby day. However, I typically download everyday so that I can keep my race database and models up-to-date. On that particular day, I downloaded the card and imported the file with the intentions of seeing if there was a horse that could conceiveably beat Silverbulletday. There wasn't. But after I looked at that race I casually leafed through the races before the Oaks to see if there was a decent Pick 3. I came up with a decent Pick 3 wheel and continued to move forward to look for more Pick 3's. After getting my Pick 3's together I noticed that my Pick 3's covered the Pick 6 races (3-8). Reluctantly, I decided to go ahead and do the Pick 6 because I knew I would be kicking myself in the rear if I had all the Pick 3's and didn't bother to bet the Pick 6 as well. The rest is history. I couldn't believe it when the last horse came in.
The best thing is that it only took me about 45 minutes to download, import and handicap the whole card. And by using my favorite screen, I was able to quickly separate the contenders from the pretenders and put together the best \$16 dollar Pick 6 ticket I have ever wagered! Thanks BRIS and thank you MultiCAPS!!!"
