A-Odds Silver uses the "HAT" datafile, which also works with Past Performance Generator. This file has a .drf extension and is basically the same as the DRF-Single file. The exception to this is an encription key at the end of the "HAT" file. The DRF-Single will not work in A-Odds Silver. Q: When is the next version coming out? A: The A-Odds Silver Plus program is no longer being updated. The programmer, Jim Bradshaw, has taken on other projects. As of right now there will be no new versions of this program. Q: Why do I keep getting "Floating Point Error, Stack Fault" A: This is generally memory related, steps to fix this problem are as follows: Run A-Odds from Windows; you can create a shortcut, or simply run a DOS window. Check the config.sys file; make sure your files= at least 60. Check the available memory, "..Program size" needs to be upwards of 620 K, run MEMMAKER to adjust this. NOTE: Some of the above would probably better be handled by a technician or someone at your computer. Q: The Days Since Last Race (DSLR) column in A-Odds Silver has a negative number, why? A: This is a problem that the A-Odds Silver program has at the beginning of every year. The problem works it self out within a week or two. Q: Why do all the dates on the PP lines say '96 instead of '97? A: This was a problem within A-Odds Silver, this was corrected in the newest version; Aodds Silver Plus Q: Why do the PP lines have these odd symbols instead of numbers? A: A-Odds is probably being run in a window from Windows, run it on a full screen (i.e. 'Alt-Enter') and the problem will be solved. Q: Why do I have trouble printing from A-Odds? A: A-Odds acts funny with several printers. Try using Print Screen, instead of the default "Alt-P". Also, you may want to make sure the printer is capable and set to print from MS-DOS programs.
