Capsheet 3.9 Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Capsheet tells me that I have too many directories, is there a work around for this?
A: Yes. The workaround for this is to manually setup the Capsheet Paths in the configuration files.
Please call us at 1-800-354-9206 for assitance in doing this. Do not edit this file on your own.
Q: I know that Capsheet must be able to verify my username in order
to run. How does the program do this in version 3.9?
A: Two ways. First, if you do have the program Plus V installed and
the file PREFERNC.USR that comes with that program, Capsheet will
verify your username using that file as it always has. Secondly, if
you do not have Plus V or its PREFERNC.USR file installed Capsheet
can create its own verification file named CAPPREFS.USR. The
program will automatically determine if you need to create this file
and guide you through the process.
Q: What data files can I use with Capsheet 3.9?
A: You can now use Plus V or Allways datafiles in Capsheet 3.9.
Q: Is there a manual available for Capsheet 3.9?
A: There is an extensive on-line manual built into the program. You
can access this information by choosing the menu item "Guide" at
the top of the Capsheet screen. Also, there is a text file named
USRGUIDE.TXT that contains excerpts from the on-line guide that
you can print out just as you would any other plain text file. It
is in the Capsheet directory (usually C:\CAPSYS30) along with all
of the other Capsheet files.
Q: Can I make use of the Early Track Datafile (ETD) in Capsheet 3.9
to display the program numbers and morning line odds?
A: Yes, you can. Make sure the ETD file is in the download directory
that you designated for Capsheet's use and the program will find
this file and incorporate it automatically when you handicap the
card. (Meaning, when you handicap the corresponding Plus V or
Allways datafile).
