Twelve fillies and mares and one main-track only entrant will
compete in the $100,000 Athenia H. (G3) at Aqueduct on Sunday.
FINERY (Lear Fan) enters the 1 1/16-mile turf contest off an
allowance win and has shown consistently improving BRIS Speed
figures. The four-year-old filly is conditioned by William
Turner, who sent two of his last five trainees into the winner’s
circle. Look for a good showing with Pablo Fragoso in the saddle.

DELTA PRINCESS (A.P. Indy) comes off a victorious run in the
Navajo Princess S. at the Meadowlands. Jockey Heberto Castillo
put the five-year-old mare on top of the board twice in his
last three appearances. The Bill Mott charge posted the highest
Speed figure in the field, a 103 three races back.

SOMETHING VENTURED (Cobra King) has yet to earn a win this
year, but has hit the middle of the board four times in eight
appearances. Her last two outings resulted in second-place
appearances and John Velazquez returns to ride for Todd Pletcher,
which is always a dangerous combination.

LADY OF THE FUTURE (Eastern Echo) finished fifth in her last
graded stakes effort, the Glen Falls H. (G3). She showed a better
performance in her last race, coming in as the runner up, and
looks to improve here. Trainer Thomas Greene will lift Shaun Bridgmohan into the saddle.

SNOWDROPS (GB) (Gulch) comes off a close second in the De la
Rose S. and enters this race looking for her first graded-stakes
score. That appearance comes on the heels of a four-race win
streak. Edgar Prado returns to ride and the gray filly should
fare well.

FRENCH HIDEAWAY (French Deputy) exits off 5 3/4-length score
versus allowance competition. Although s he’s done well in these
ranks, s he may be overmatched here. MADEIRA MIST (Ire) (Grand
Lodge) is coming off a win in the Quill S. She has placed off the
board only once in her 11 tries at this distance and has a chance
to share part here.

VESPERS (Known Fact) has not finished in front since March of
last year in an optional claimer. She has had a couple of close
calls since then, but it was against weaker fields. WITH PATIENCE
(With Approval) finished a close fourth last out, and has a shot
for the bottom of the gimmicks.

CONEY KITTY (Ire) (Lycius) won the Omnibus S. three back, but
has failed to impress since then. MYSTERY ITSELF (Pulpit) has
consistently come in either first or second in her last five
races, but will face heavier competition here. ANDOVER LADY (Kris
S.) has not fared well against graded competition barring a third
in the Pebbles H. (G3) last October. CLOAKOF VAGUENESS (El Prado
[Ire]) is the lone main-track-only entrant on the ticket. She
made a trio of runner-up finishes her last three out, but would
be facing more skilled competition here.
