Sense of Style breezes for Breeders’
Cup

Only two horses worked for the October 30 Breeders’ Cup at
Lone Star Park on Sunday. Grade 1 winner SENSE OF STYLE
(Thunder Gulch) put in a five-furlong move in :59 4/5 on the fast
track to prepare for the Juvenile Fillies (G1).

The bay miss broke her maiden by 2 1/2 lengths before easily
scoring in the Spinaway S. (G2) by 6 3/4 lengths. Next out, the
Patrick Biancone trainee posted a length victory in the Matron S.
(G1), before finally dropping her only race when a close fifth in the Alcibiades S. (G2) at Keeneland last out.

“It was very good,” Biancone said. “We
accomplished what I wanted. You can just bring her to her best
and hope nobody’s better than her. We should be in good shape. I
have done everything in my power to make her peak next Saturday.
Six days to go is still a long time for a horse, but she should
peak.”

Stakes heroine INDY GROOVE (A.P. Indy), third
in the Arlington Matron H. (G3) two back, went five-eighths in
:59 2/5. Trained by Thomas Proctor, the four-year-old chestnut is
entered for the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1).

Multiple Grade 2 winner ROMAN RULER (Fusaichi Pegasus)

“He’s ready.”

Roman Ruler worked in company with Pizza George around noon,
posting splits of :23 for the quarter and :46 2/5 for the half
before galloping out six furlongs in 1:11.

“I didn’t want horses jumping in with him, kicking
in,” Baffert said of the late work time. “It’s more of
a relaxed atmosphere, a little softer.”

Roman Ruler will run with blinkers in the Juvenile and leaves
for Lone Star on Wednesday.

Though not reported on the worktab, trainer Neil Drysdale sent
out John C. Mabee H. (G1) heroine MUSICAL CHIMES (In
