Personal Rush preps for Classic

Personal Rush scored an easy nine-length victory in Japan’s Derby Grand Prix (Lauren Pomeroy/Horsephotos.com)

On Wednesday, Japanese Grade 1 winner PERSONAL RUSH (Wild
Rush) breezed five furlongs in 1:01 3/5 over a fast track at Lone
Star Park in preparation for Saturday’s $4 million Breeders’ Cup
Classic (G1). The Kentucky-bred three-year-old will make his
United States debut in the Classic under Frankie Dettori. Trained
by Kenji Yamauchi, Personal Rush is expected to wear a pink
blinker hood that covers his ears and should be easy to spot in
the 1 1/4-mile feature.

Man o’ War S. (G1) winner MAGISTRETTI (Diesis [GB]) officially
breezed five furlongs in 1:06 2/5 around the “dogs”
over a soft turf course in advance of the Breeders’ Cup Turf
(G1). The Patrick Biancone trainee most recently finished second
to Turf favorite KITTEN’S JOY (El Prado [Ire]) in the Joe Hirsch
Turf Classic Invitational S. (G1) at Belmont Park. Edgar Prado
has a return call.

Sheepshead Bay H. (G2) winner MOSCOW BURNING (Moscow Ballet),
a close third in the Flower Bowl Invitational S. (G1) in her last
start, blew out an unrecorded three furlongs over the grass
course in preparation for the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf
(G1).

 Kieren Fallon — will square
off in Thursday’s International Jockey Championship at Lone Star
Park. Riding assignments were determined by a random drawing and
the jockey with the most points at the end of the three-race
competition is named champion.
