Rain expected through
Friday
Scattered thunderstorms and highs in the lower 80s are
forecasted through Friday at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie,
Texas. Site of Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred
Championships, the track was still listed as fast for Sunday’s
races with the lone turf race going off firm.
A 40 percent chance of thunderstorms is called for on Monday,
with the high reaching 85 and a low of 70. The sun is expected to
make a reappearance for Saturday but the high is supposed to only
reach 68.
As for Lone Star itself, favorites ruled the day as six of the
nine events went to the public’s choice. Stalkers held the
advantage and there was one wire-to-wire winner in the 5TH race
going 5 1/2 furlongs.
