Lone Star Park clockers timed SIX PERFECTIONS
(Celtic Swing) going three furlongs in :43 around the “dogs”
over a yielding turf course on Friday. Trained by Pascal Bary,
the four-year-old filly will defend her title in the Breeders’
Cup Mile (G1).
Six Perfections is listed at 5-1 on the morning line and will
be ridden by Jerry Bailey.
As a side note, some of the European horses who had not raced
in the last 45 days were required to have a published workout of
at least three furlongs before being allowed to start, according
to state racing rules.
In other Breeders’ Cup news:
Jockey Richard Migliore, who escaped serious injury after
being unseated from his mount prior to Thursday’s 4TH race at
Aqueduct, took off his mounts on Friday at the New York track in
order to catch a flight to Dallas, where he will ride in the
Breeders’ Cup.
Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey won the three-race
International Jockey Championship over Kieren Fallon at Lone Star
Park on Thursday. Bailey earned 24 points and actually finished
in a tie with Fallon, but under a tiebreaker rule, the rider who
earns the most points in the final leg is declared the champion.
