Fields set for Florida Million
Del Mar Breeders’ Cup H. (G2) winner SUPAH BLITZ (Mecke) and
ACLASSYSASSYLASSY (Wild Event), who swept the Florida Stallion
Series for two-year-old fillies, are among the top draws for
Saturday’s $1.2 million Florida Million, which features eight
stakes for Florida-breds at Calder Race Course.
Supah Blitz, a two-time stakes winner at Calder who ships back
to the Sunshine State for trainer Doug O’Neill, will take on six
rivals in the $200,000 Carl G. Rose Classic H. Other contenders
for the 1 1/8-mile main track event are multiple Grade 3 hero THE
JUDGE SEZ WHO (Judge T C), who has finished third and second in
the last two runnings, and multiple stakes winner HEAR NO EVIL
(Carson City).
The $200,000 Elmer Heubeck Distaff H. is the filly and mare
counterpart and includes REDOUBLED MISS (Adhocracy), who exits a
win in the Shocker T. H. last month. Five-time stakes queen
DAKOTA LIGHT (Colony Light) and Calder Oaks winner HOPELESSLY
DEVOTED (Storm Creek) are also part of the eight entrants for the
1 1/16-mile test.
Aclassysassylassy, who won all three legs of the Florida
Stallion Series by wide margins, tops a seven-horse field in the
$150,000 Joe O’Farrell Juvenile Fillies S. at seven furlongs. The
$150,000 Jack Price Juvenile
S., also at seven panels, attracted
10 male two-year-olds, including stakes winners CLOSING ARGUMENT
(Successful Appeal) and FLAMENCO (Dance Master).
The other Florida Million stakes are the $150,000 Bonnie Heath
Turf Cup H.; $150,000 Jack Dudley Sprint
H.; $100,000 John Franks
Juvenile Fillies Turf; and $100,000 Arthur I. Appleton Juvenile
Turf.
