Friday’s Miesque S. (G3) for two-year-old fillies at Hollywood
Park has been split into two eight-horse divisions and the first
heat features a trio of European invaders. The rail has been
extremely lively in turf routes this meet and we’ll give a slight
edge to LOUVAIN (Ire) (Sinndar) from the innermost post.

Now trained by Bobby Frankel, Louvain broke her maiden in July
and then placed in a pair of French stakes, missing by less than
a length each time. The last came at the one-mile distance, and
Louvain’s BRIS Foreign Class ratings compare favorably with her
main rivals. She’s recorded four workouts this month in
preparation for this event and should come with a strong effort.

ROYAL COPENHAGEN (Fr) (Inchinor [GB]), who exits a head runner-up
finish in a French Group 3 event, looks like a very dangerous
contender in her first start stateside under the direction of
Laura de Seroux. She’s been extremely game in all three of her
starts and could prove difficult to deny here.

CRYSTAL HOUSE (Chester House), who is still a maiden, turned
in a solid rally through the stretch to finish a close second in
her career bow and could grab part in her stakes bow if she
continues to move forward. The Kathy Walsh trainee will be
spotting seasoning to her winning rivals, but Crystal House looks
like she could be a nice one on the grass.

LA MAITRESSE (Ire) (Desert King) makes her first American
appearance for conditioner Carla Gaines and the Irish stakes-placed
miss shows some tactical speed in her European running lines. She
could parlay a forwardly placed trip into a top three performance.
CULTURE CLASH (Petionville) comes off a bad showing in the
Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), but she owns some turf
breeding and could offer a decent challenge if she takes to the
grass.

LADY TRUFFLES (Candi’s Gold) has never finished worst than
second from four starts but is a big question mark on the grass.
We’ll watch to see how she handles the sod. LUNAR FLIGHT (Flying
Continental) isn’t bred for the turf and will need to prove she
can handle it before we endorse her chances. KACHINA DREAM (Falstaff)
will be making her turf debut and faces a class check.
