Roses in May could make his next start in Clark

Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) runner-up ROSES IN MAY (Devil His Due)
could make his next start in the $500,000 Clark H. (G2) at Churchill
Downs on November 26, trainer Dale Romans said Tuesday.

“There’s no reason not to, he’s doing good,” Romans said.
“We’ll wait and see how he trains. It’s a little quick back, but
he seems like he came out of it fine. We’ll take him to the track
tomorrow.”

Roses in May and KITTEN’S JOY (El Prado [Ire]), runner-up in the
Breeders’ Cup Turf (G1), returned to the Louisville, Kentucky, track
on Monday following a flight from Texas.

Romans said both horses came out of their respective races in good
order, but that Kitten’s Joy would be going to the farm for a rest
after a year-long campaign that could earn him an Eclipse Award as the
nation’s top turf runner.

Whitney H. (G1) winner Roses in May suffered his first loss of the
season in the 1 1/4-mile Classic, which was the fastest running in the
21-year history of the event.

Romans said current plans call for both horses to race next year.
