Personal Legend turns back all rivals
at Aqueduct

Edmund A. Gann’s PERSONAL LEGEND (Awesome Again) raced along
the inside near the back of Saturday’s $110,700 Turnback the
Alarm H. (G3)
at Aqueduct until reaching the stretch under Jerry
Bailey. Swinging wide, the Bobby Frankel-trained four-year-old
miss got up under a drive to post a half-length victory on the
fast track. She completed 1 1/8 miles in 1:51 1/5.

Sent off at nearly 4-1, Personal Legend was worth $9.90, $5.90
and $3.90 while starting the $64 exacta and $449.50 trifecta (1-7-4).
Roar Emotion (Roar) briefly led in the stretch but couldn’t hold
off the winner, settling for second at 7-1 and paying $9 and $5.
Fast Cookie (Deputy Minister) took third, 4 3/4 lengths behind
the runner-up, and returned $6.80 at 11-1.

Next across the line came 5-2 favorite Capeside Lady (Cape
Town), Cloakof Vagueness (El Prado [Ire]), Misty Sixes (Summer
Squall), Fortunate Damsel (Runaway Groom), Nevermore (Unbridled)
and Pocus Hocus (Quiet American).

Personal Legend moved her earnings to $407,340 to go along
with a line of 17-5-5-2. She captured the first division of the
De la Rose S. at Saratoga in August and also owns placings in
five black-type events, including the Del Mar Oaks (G1).

Bred in Kentucky by G. Watts Humphrey Jr. & Louise I.
Humphrey, Personal Legend is out of the stakes-placed Highland
Legend (Storm Bird).

Frankel said Personal Legend is headed to Florida for the
winter.
