WINNING WITH WORKOUTS
In this regular weekly feature, Handicapper’s Report will present examples of
how to use workouts in your handicapping using actual results with horses
featured in our reports. To access the HR reports,

Today’s Topic: The value of knowing the company that a horse is working
with in the morning.
On Wednesday, November10, at Aqueduct, we had a classic example of a horse
working with another horse that produced a good performance next time out AND
had an important equipment change with the addition of blinkers.
In the 8TH race, PALIQUE (Uru) (Ideologico) had worked with maiden Shorty
Knudtson (Thunder Gulch) and the HR reports noted how he went by him to
finish two lengths ahead at the end the wire. Shorty Knudston won his debut in a
maiden special weight five days later by three lengths and paid $55 to win.
It was noted by our clocker that Palique was wearing blinkers in this
workout and he wore them for the first time in his next start on November 1 in
an entry level allowance event. He aired his rivals by four lengths at a $29.40
mutuel.
