Hollywood Park officials announced Sunday that they would move all turf races to the
main track for the final two days of the Autumn meet due to concerns of wet
spots on the track. The final two turf races were moved Saturday and the
decision was made to transfer Sunday and Monday’s turf races off the grass for the final days of racing.
“The jockeys have continued to express concern over a couple of spots on the
course,” said Rich Baedeker, Hollywood Park’s president. “We decided to move the
Monday turf races as well as those on Sunday rather than having to go through
the same frustrating exercise of planning and then scrapping the turf races.”
The Dahlia H. (G2) set to run on Monday will be moved off the turf course for
the first time in 23 years.
