ReRun Inc., the national Thoroughbred adoption program founded by Shon Wylie
and Lori Neagle, will relocate its headquarters from Kentucky to New Jersey in
January. The move is designed to take advantage of state funding and to fully utilize
the program’s facility at Greener Pastures Farm near Cecilton, Maryland. The organization will be directed by Laurie Lane, a chapter director and
adoption coordinator since 1999.
As a result of the relocation, Wylie will be leaving her position as
president and executive director of the non-profit organization and Neagle will
relinquish her post as administrative director. ReRun will continue to maintain
a Kentucky chapter, which has traditionally taken in the highest number of
horses.
“We have overseen the growth of ReRun from a small, Kentucky-based program in
1996 to a national program,” Neagle said. “There are many groups operating today
whose mission is to help ex-racehorses at the end of their track careers.
ReRun’s mission has always been adoption, and while that will remain a large
part of what ReRun does, development of the ReRun Maryland educational and
retraining facility, as well as facilitating numerous horse shows, will now be
the focus.”
“Lori and I have been blessed with wonderful people who have worked
tirelessly to find the best homes possible for ReRun horses,” Wylie said. “Their
commitment is ongoing, and has made ReRun a top-notch program. Their ideas and
ethics will certainly ensure that ReRun continues to be at the forefront of
Thoroughbred adoption and retirement, while allowing the program to grow to
better meet the needs of the Thoroughbred industry.”
