Premier Radio Networks has been awarded a Media Eclipse Award in the Audio
and Multi-Media Internet category, the National Thoroughbred Racing Association
(NTRA) announced. This is the third Eclipse Award for Premier Radio, having
already won in 2000 and 2002, and was given for its live national coverage of
the 2004 Belmont S. (G1) on June 5.

“The Belmont S. was a wonderful story with Smarty Jones capturing the
imagination of the country,” said Shelby Whitfield, executive producer of the
90-minute broadcast. “Race caller Dave Johnson, anchor Don Chevrier, field
reporter Fred Manfra and analyst Gregg McCarron share my love for Thoroughbred
racing, and it shows in their work.”

Honorable mention in this category went to Michael Brunker of MSNBC for
“21-Year-Old Trainer Wise Beyond Her Years,” about trainer Kristin Mulhall, which
aired on April 29, and WBAL Radio in Baltimore for its coverage of the Preakness
S. (G1) on May 15.
