Grade 1 heroine INTERCONTINENTAL (GB) (Danehill) makes her 2005 bow for
conditioner Bobby Frankel in Monday’s $150,000 Buena Vista H. (G2) at Santa
Anita. Eleven fillies and mares and two also-eligibles will contest the one-mile
grassy affair, a distance at which the bay has won three times in five starts,
including her four-year-old finale in the Matriarch S. (G1). Jerry Bailey will
be part of the 121-pound highweight assignment as the duo breaks from the
fourth position.

HOH BUZZARD (Ire) (Alhaarth) enters off a game win in
the Brown Bess H. at Golden Gate in her only 2005 start. She has scored twice in
five tries at Monday’s distance and
the five-year-old will hope to hold off the late bid of our top choice while
carrying 117 pounds, including jockey Tony Farina. The Buena Vista has also attracted KATDOGAWN (GB) (Bahhare), who finished
second in this event last year. The Wally Dollase trainee gets the return
services of Rene Douglas and will carry 118 pounds out of gate three.

The field, from the rail out with riders and imposts, is RESPLENDENCY (Tale
of the Cat), Pat Valenzuela, 114; ELUSIVE DIVA (Elusive Quality), Kent Desormeaux, 116; Katdogawn; Intercontinental; SOLAR ECHO (Spinning World), David
Flores, 115; BELLE ANGE (Fr) (Ganges), Victor Espinoza, 115; URAIB (Ire) (Mark
of Esteem [Ire]), Jon Court, 115; ANY FOR LOVE (Arg) (Southern Halo), Tyler Baze,
115; MISS TERRIBLE (Arg) (Numerous), Mike Smith, 115; ASK FOR THE MOON (Fr) (Dr

The also-eligibles for this race are IRGUNETTE (Aus) (Irgun), Alex Bisono,
113; and MEGEC BLIS (Ire) (Soviet Star), Juan Garcia, 112.
