Robert and Janice McNair’s Stonerside Stable has purchased a controlling
interest in multiple Grade 2 winner SIS CITY (Slew City Slew) from the
partnership of Sanford Goldfarb, Joe Torre, Michael Dubb and Ira Davis. The
three-year-old filly, whose primary spring goal is the May 6 Kentucky Oaks (G1)
at Churchill Downs, will remain with trainer Richard Dutrow Jr.
In her seasonal debut, Sis City rolled to a 16-length victory in the
nine-furlong Davona Dale S. (G2) on February 5 at Gulfstream Park. She closed out her juvenile campaign with a 3 3/4-length score in the
nine-furlong Demoiselle S. (G2) after finishing fourth in the Breeders’ Cup
Juvenile Fillies (G1). The bay also captured the Mongo Queen S. at Monmouth Park
by 16 lengths and finished a close third in the Frizette S. (G1). To date, Sis
City has compiled a record of 8-4-0-2 and earnings of $372,980.
Sis City is the first registered foal out of the Beau Genius mare Smart Sis,
who is a
half-sister to Grade 2 winner Swamp (Slew City Slew).
