Grade 1 queen MEGAHERTZ (GB) (Pivotal) will make her six-year-old debut

Saturday while taking on six rivals in the $150,000 Santa Ana H. (G2) at Santa

Anita. The Bobby Frankel-trained mare ended last year with a close head second

to the boys in the Hollywood Turf Cup S. (G1). This will be her third try in the

Santa Ana after finishing third in the 2003 edition and crossing under the line

first by a length before being disqualified to seventh last season. Alex Solis

will make up most of the 122 pounds the chestnut will have to carry as top

weight.

Among those Megahertz will face are VALENTINE DANCER (In Excess [Ire]) and

KATDOGAWN (Bahhare). The former was a repeat winner in the Sunshine Millions

Distaff in her second start this year but her first on the turf. She made her

five-year-old bow in the Paseana H. on the main track, finishing second, and

will have Jon Court back in the saddle.

Katdogawn was the beneficiary of Megahertz's disqualification last year as

she was moved from second to first in the Santa Ana. That was her only stakes

score in 2004, but the five-year-old earned placings in five other black-type

events, including the Yellow Ribbon S. (G1) and Buena Vista H. (G2). In her

seasonal bow, she finished third in the Tuzla H. over Santa Anita's course.

The complete field for the 1 1/8-mile grassy Santa Ana, from the rail with

riders and weights, is Valentine Dancer, 117; STUPENDOUS MISS (Dynaformer),

Victor Espinosa, 113; Megahertz; Katdogawn, Corey Nakatani, 117; BELLE ANGE (Fr)

(Ganges), Tyler Baze, 113; HOH BUZZARD (Ire) (Alhaarth), Tony Farina, 117; and

BARANCELLA (Fr) (Pat Valenzuela), 116.
