Courtlandt Farms’ FILM MAKER (Dynaformer) ran near the back of
Saturday’s $100,000

Gallorette H. (G3)
, swung out in the Pimlico stretch and scored by a
close neck under Jerry Bailey to take the 8 1/2-furlong good turf test
in 1:44 1/5. Trained by H. Graham Motion, the five-year-old mare was
sent off the 2-1 favorite and returned $6.40, $4 and $3.20 to her
faithful backers while keying the $35.60 exacta, $550.20 trifecta and
$1,493 superfecta ($1) (7-4-9-2).

Briviesca (GB) (Peintre Celebre) rallied along the rail and led briefly a few
yards from the wire, but couldn’t hold off Film Maker, paying $5.40 and $4.20 at
9-2. Humoristic (Sefapiano), another three parts of a length back in third, gave
back $7.60 at 32-1 and was followed by Dynamia (Dynaformer), Changing World
(Spinning World), Path of Thunder (Thunder Gulch), Art Fan (Lear Fan), Feelin’
the Breeze (Belong to Me) and Gelli (Geri).

Film Maker improved her position by one in this race after running second
last year. Some of her other wins have come in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge
Cup S. (G1), All Along Breeders’ Cup S. (G3) and Lake George S. (G3), and she
also ran second in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1). From a
17-6-4-4 career mark, the dark bay has now earned $990,290.

Bred in Kentucky by Tac Holdings Inc., Film Maker is out of Miss Du Bois (Mr.
Prospector) and has an unraced juvenile half-sister named Remember Me (Out of
Place) as well as an unnamed yearling half-sister by Capote.
