Mercedes Stables LLC and Marsha Naify’s STORM WOLF (Stormin Fever) continued his
impressive run through the Southern California three-year-old sprint division with a decisive
six-length tally in
the $150,000
Lazaro Barrera Memorial S. (G2) at Hollywood Park on Saturday. Giving
Bruce Headley his third straight win on the card, Storm Wolf led at every call
before completing the seven fast furlongs in 1:22 1/5 without being urged late.
Ridden by Alex Solis, who recorded his fifth score on the card, the winner was worth $2.80, $2.40 and $2.10
at 2-5, while topping the $4.10 exacta ($1) and $20.70 trifecta ($1).

Dover Dere (Cherokee Run) closed for the place, worth $3.20 and $2.10 at 5-1.
Ransom Demanded (Meadowlake) earned the show, giving back $2.10 at 20-1. Thirsty
Guy’s (Kahuna Jack), Positive Prize (Prized) and High Standards (High Brite)
rounded out the field.

Storm Wolf has yet to be challenged following a fourth place finish in his
debut, winning three straight by open lengths. The dark bay has a career line of
4-3-0-0 with a bankroll of $147,840.

Bred in Kentucky by Brereton Jones, the winner was purchased at the 2003
Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling Sale for $300,000. He is out of the stakes
winning Exclusive Rosette (Ecliptical) and has a pair of unnamed, unraced
full-siblings, a two-year-old filly and a yearling colt.
