Susan Magnier’s GRAND CENTRAL (Ire) (Sadler’s Wells) has been sold to the
Hong Kong Breeders’ Club, it was announced Thursday. Coolmore issued a statement
which read that the sophomore “will continue to be trained at Ballydoyle by
Aidan O’Brien for the rest of the year before he embarks on a racing career in
Hong Kong.”

Grand Central was third in the Leopardstown Derby Trial (Ire-G2) before
finishing unplaced in the Epsom Derby (Eng-G1) and the listed Celebration S. at
The Curragh. He returned to the winner’s circle after a conditions event at
Leopardstown last out and is entered in Saturday’s Secretariat S. (G1) at
Arlington Park against English Channel (Smart Strike).

“Saturday’s field at Arlington Park is very competitive and it will give
Grand Central good international experience before he ships to Hong Kong for
more Group races later on in his career,” Hong Kong Breeders’ Club’s Racing
Manager John McGrath said.

Grand Central will be leased back to race in the Magnier colors Saturday at
Arlington.
